Clans are groups of players who are united under a single cause. Clans are by no means new and have existed throughout the ages in one form or another. In the Nexus realm, clans consist of up to 7 players who are divided into three categories: leader, officer, and member.
There is only 1 leader in each clan and no clan can ever not have a leader. So when a clan is created by a player, that player is automatically the leader. Leaders can manage the clan data as well as its members and are the only ones who can disband a clan.
There can be at most 2 officers per clan. Officers can do most of the things a leader can do except edit clan data and disband a clan. They can control recruiting and also manage regular members.
There can be at most 4 regular members per clan. Members don't have the abilities that leaders or officers have but there can be the most of them. When players join or are recruited to a clan, they are automatically set to a regular member, though this of course can be changed later.
Any member of a clan can be promoted or demoted inside the ranks by the leader or officers. The names of these categories themselves can also be changed to suite the clan's liking. Most of the activities that players carry out while in the clan are recorded just like regular player's activities are recorded. So when you defeat a member of another clan, this will show up on the front page of the clans section for bragging rights!
By winning games, clan members gain VP. These numbers help to rank each clan as they are categorized by how much VP each clan earns per day and week. At the end of the week, the top clans receive awards and at the beginning of the next week, the slate is wiped clean for all clans to try again to be the clan of the week. |
Starting a clan is simple. As long as you're not already in one, a link will appear on the right-hand menu called Create Clan. Once you go there, you have to fill in some basic questions, such as the Clan Name and the Clan Tag, to name a few. Once you finish filling that out, you're all set to go. |
Only leaders and officers can recruit new members. For now, this is done by going to a player's profile and selecting the Clan Request link on the lower-right hand side. Later, there will be an option for someone to simply request a join by viewing the clan's Front. Once the request is sent to the player, they will have 7 days to accept or deny the request. If they accept, and as long as there is an opening still available at the time that they do accept, they will become a part of your clan. So be sure that if a number of requests are sent out that there is space available in your clan to join. |
The Clan Tag is a very important part of who a clan is. It's a representation of your clan and whenever someone sees it, they will think of your clan's reputation. Therefore, the performance of you and your members is linked directly to your clan tag.
Choosing a clan tag is fairly simple. You can choose just about any characters you like so long as there is at least one letter or number present. Some examples of tags include the following: {S}, .net, |LoZ|, and more. You can also change the color of the tag itself from white to red to blue or whatever you like. The position of the tag, whether it be in front of your name or in back or both, and whether there be a space between it and your name, can also be customized. The general idea is that your clan tag should be unique and easily identifiable to regular players. Strike fear into the hearts of other clans! |
