How to Join

In order to play Triple Triad Nexus, you need to join. To start, you just need to create a Gamer Name and password and enter your e-mail address. Once you submit this information, assuming the Gamer Name is not taken already, your account will be created and you'll automatically be given 24 starter cards.

How to Play

There is an entire section dedicated to learning how to play which is also listed in the Beginner's Corner. Definitely read that if you're unsure about anything or have any basic questions. You can always send private messages to other players once you've created an account or head over to our Forums and ask around there. There's always someone who will get back to you. Visit our Credits page to learn who our staff is.

Playing Triple Triad

There are two ways to get into an actual game of Triple Triad: by creating one and waiting for someone else to join your game or by joining one of the available games that someone else has already created. In order to create a game, go here. In order to see if there are any available games to join, go here.

Gaining More Cards

When you first join Nexus, you start off with 24 cards automatically. They are mostly Level 1 cards and a handful of others. Ultimately, you want to increase your inventory to as many cards as possible, gaining stronger and stronger cards. There are a number of ways to do this. The easiest way is simply saving up enough Gil, which is earned at the end of each match, and buying card packs from the Card Pack Mall. Card Packs will give you a random amount of cards depending on the pack you buy.

You can also earn cards from winning "Trade Games" (any match that uses a Trade rule other than "None"). In most of the Trade Games, if you defeat your opponent, you'll be able to take one or more of the cards they used for the match. A third option to gaining cards is by using the Trade Arena. Here, players can trade with other players for cards or Gil.

Goal of the Game

As with any game, there are goals for the player to achieve. Triple Triad Nexus isn't a traditional game so there isn't an "ending." Instead, there are a number of things each player can do, most for as long as they like. The main goal of players in the past was to collect at least one of every card in the game. This is a significant challenge because some cards are made much harder to find than others such as the Rare cards, the coveted but even harder to find Collectible cards, and then the ultra hard to find Super cards.

Another goal of the game is trying to stay on top of the constantly moving leader boards (called "Rankings"). Cracking the top 10 of the Wins board can take months if not years as long as other players continue to win games aiming to do the exact same thing you're doing: stay on top of the list.

A third goal of the game is to be a part of a good Clan. Clans are groups of players who work together through Nexus. Getting and keeping a solid group of players together for an extended time period can be a real challenge because there are other clans out there also. Rising above the rest to win the Clan Awards each week requires dedication and a consistent team effort.
